These are all real stories of healing, resilience, and finding a way forward.
Overcoming Addiction & Agoraphobia
After struggling with severe alcohol dependence, anxiety, and agoraphobia, one individual came to KBBH ready for change. With treatment and continued support, they completed detox and have now maintained sobriety for more than two years.
Along the way, they reached milestones that once felt out of reach, from being able to eat solid food again to completing extensive dental care and securing a home loan. Their story is a reminder that recovery can open the door to rebuilding many parts of life.
Stability Through Crisis Intervention
After experiencing psychosis, repeated hospitalizations, and homelessness, one individual found support through KBBH’s crisis and respite services. With treatment and a safe place to stabilize, they reached a turning point and began moving toward greater stability and independence.
Transforming Family Dynamics
A mother came to KBBH looking for help navigating her child’s violent behavioral challenges. Through targeted support, including substance use treatment and anger management, the family began to see meaningful change.
While the child continues to work through anger, they are no longer making violent threats and have developed an interest in behavioral psychology. Their story shows how the right support can help create positive change for both young people and their families.
Rebuilding Life After Addiction
After a decade-long struggle with heroin addiction, a single parent began rebuilding their life through recovery. After nine months of sobriety, they secured their own apartment and a stable job, completed parenting classes and a DUI program, regained their driver’s license, and successfully transitioned off medication-assisted treatment.
Their story reflects how comprehensive support can help create meaningful change across many areas of life.
